Training Camp

Well after a long Curling and Hockey season, it is time to start swinging ... the bats (of course). As of 2002/04/11, the TNT Sluggers have been entered for their forth season in the UofR Campus Rec Softball League. A team captain's meeting will be held on 2002/05/09 and play will begin on 2002/05/13. If you haven't received an invite to the training camp send me an email. Let's rock the diamonds this year!!!

Schedule

If you cannot make a game, please contact me in advance by e-mail Ted.Nokonechny@uregina.ca, or phone Work:585-4627, Home:924-5769. If we're short I'll try to fill out the roster, or reschedule the game.
Warmup will commence approximately 30 minutes prior to game time for those interested in tossing a ball around.
The team must be assembled and ready to play 5 minutes before game time as per league rules.

Diamond Locations

Dr. A.E. Perry School is located on 93 Lincoln Drive. Directions: The starting point is Gordon Road and McTavish which is between Lewvan Drive and Albert Street. Proceed South on McTavish until you reach Lincoln Drive. Turn East onto Lincoln and look for the ball diamonds.
The UofR Diamonds are located on the main campus on University Drive East and are to the east of Luther College and PAS. Parking is available in the student areas of lot 4.
Deshaye Diamond #6 is located on 37 Cameron Crescent (west of Albert bwteen Gordon and Parliament ... sorry for the lack of detail ;-)
Crescent Park Diamond is located on Dixon Crescent just behind Cochrane high school.
Marion McVeety Diamond is located on Jubilee Avenue and Turgeon Crescent.
Birchwood Diamond is located off of Grant Road on Birchwood Road/Crescent (I think ... I'll check). Campus Rec says: Grant Rd, between Norris Rd, Shannon Rd and Birchwood Rd.

Lunch Time Practice

Anyone interested in throwing a ball around at lunch should send me an email and watch this space for the date of the next practice. The time will be (roughly) 12:30 to 12:45pm and the location just south of the Library and AdHum buildings on the main U of R campus. Fridays will be reserved for Dim Sum or related activities, since too much practice can be overly taxing. Subject to weather and my discipline to bring a bagged lunch, I'll be there. I have two spare gloves in case you forget yours, but you'd still like some exercise.

Team T-shirts

Procrest did a good job on our t-shirts last year and I still have some in stock. The t-shirts are $17.00 if you are interested. I will gauge interest for TNT Sluggers ball caps this season. (None was expressed ... none ordered).

Fees

As for team fees, they are waived in lieu of a donation to a charitable organization to help the less fortunate (such as the Salvation Army or similar charity of your choice).
