Event: Sustainable Solid Waste Management Symposium at U of R (2026)

About the symposium:
The symposium topics include the generation, collection, treatment, recycling, and disposal of (i) municipal solid waste, (ii) plastic waste, (iii) electronic waste, (iv) industrial waste, (v) construction and demolition wastes, as well as (vi) special wastes such as household hazardous waste and low-level radioactive waste. The objectives of this in-person symposium are to raise public awareness on sustainable solid waste management in Canada, present waste management research at UofR, and build a regional network with regulators, engineers, urban planners, NGOs, and grassroots organizations in Southern Saskatchewan.
Participation fees include:
Attendance in the scientific programme and conference materials
A Certificate of Attendance for APEGS Continuing Professional Development or other CPD programs
Breakfast buffet - Scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, bacon (menu subject to change)
Lunch buffet - Fried chicken, baby back ribs, grilled Basa, grilled vegetables, mac & cheese (menu subject to change)
Two coffee breaks - Chef's baking tray, coffee, team fruit teas, water (menu subject to change)

The one-day symposium is organized by the WMSD Lab. Symposium sponsors: NSERC CRC Program, University of Regina, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. A Certificate of Attendance will be issued for APEGS Continuing Professional Development or other CPD programs.
