CSCE student paper competition (2015)Â
Congratulations to Nathan! He has won the 2015 Best student paper competition Award (first place):
Mr. Nathan Bruce, a MASc student at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, has received the 2015 Best Student Paper Award (First Place) from the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. An award is presented annually by the Society to the graduate student whose paper, presented at the Annual Conference in the year of the award, is judged by the Awards Committee to be the best among those received for adjudication. There were over 35 entries this year from across Canada, US, and Asia. This is the first to a U of R student in the history of this international student competition. Nathan was honored at the CSCE annual conference held in Regina, Canada at the Student Awards Ceremony on May 29, 2015.

Competition: 4:00 – 5:00 PM

2015 RESULTS:
First place overall ($300): Team 5 - "Software Master Race". Max. load: 513N, Load-to-weight ratio: 3.98
Second place ($200): Team 14 - "Ultimate Limit State". Max. load: 467N, Load-to-weight ratio: 3.47
Third place ($100): Team 1 - "Chelsea Bridge Constructors". Max. load: 430N, Load-to-weight ratio: 2.95
