Anecdotal Evidence: the work of Gerald Saul
Over seven weeks in July/August 2016 I had a solo retrospective exhibition of my work at the Art Gallery of Regina. It was called Anecdotal Evidence and was curated by Elizabeth Matheson and Christine Ramsay as the Strandline Curatorial Collective as "station 6" of their "Meet In The Middle" project. The catalog was written by Ken Wilson and designed by Brent Pylot of Epic Art + Design. To create the work I received grants from the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the Canada Council.
My goal with this exhibition was to re-envision some of my past works and create new adaptations of them using techniques that I've more recently become interested in. These approaches have included stereoscopic cameras/viewers, audio installation, microscopic photography, games and toys, archaic technologies, 3D printing, and panorama.
