It was a beautiful night for a game of softball ... the TNT Sluggers even appeared to have legions of fans in support of THE defensive struggle of the season. Tonight we locked horns with the Canadian Hardcore's who were in second place in our division with a healthy +49 plus/minus rating. BUT we held them to 6 runs and came up only one run short of putting them in their place. The bats were getting just a tad under the ball leading to high fly balls, and an out. Call me guilty on two occasions.
I don't know what the problem is with some teams not putting an umpire on first. Sure it's a chore, but at least our team isn't lazy like some teams. It's rule number 18, and we play by the rules. We won't be professional (ie with jerseys) next week, but our schedule will be: three games on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. See you on the diamond.
