The Student Success Centre offers a variety of Academic Excellence workshops designed to assist you with developing your academic skills and becoming a better student. Our interactive, 45-60 minute workshops are available throughout the year on a rotating schedule and are offered both in person and via Zoom.

Not sure when to do your reading or what to write down in your lectures? This workshop will show you the ins and outs of prepping for class and staying focused while your instructor is teaching!

Not sure how to study? Don’t know why you didn’t do as well as you hoped on your last test? We’ll show you how your brain learns, dispel some common myths about learning, and help you get your brain learning!

Time Management and Goal Setting

This workshop will help you investigate where your time is going, what to do when your priorities change, and how you can make the most of the time you have for your studies!

University Writing Basics

Looking to make the most of your writing assignments but not sure where to start? This workshop will introduce you to the basic genres of academic writing and help you get started on that written work!

Decoding Your Writing Assignments

Not sure what your prof is asking you to do? This workshop will talk you through some the steps for decoding some of those assignment prompts!
