Course-based MSc students must complete MATH/STAT 802 - Major Essay. Here is the process.

Before the semester when you take MATH/STAT 802, find a faculty member who will supervise your essay. Check out the Faculty research areas.
Once a faculty member agrees to supervise your essay, they will contact the Math & Stats Office so that you can register in the course.
Discuss the topic and the scope of the essay with the supervisor. More details about the expectations can be found in this course syllabus.
