Expertise and areas of study

Dr. Osman Salad Hersi's expertise is mainly in the field of sedimentology and stratigraphy of siliciclastic, carbonate and mixed classic-carbonate sequences, sedimentary basin analysis: paleogeographic evolution, tectonics and eustacy versus sedimentation, and diagenesis of sedimentary rocks and reservoir characterization.

Prior to joining the University of Regina, Dr. Salad Hersi worked as Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman, Senior Geologist, AGAT Laboratories, Calgary, Alberta, Research Scientist, Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Quebec Geoscience Centre, Canada.
