Skip the Line - Order your ID Online!
- Log in to your UR Self-Service account.
- Under the Home Menu select U of R Photo ID Card Request.
- Have your digital photo and valid government-issued photo ID ready for upload (both under 2 MB).
Photo Requirements:
- Only you should be in the photo.
- No hats, headbands, or sunglasses.
- Eyes must be open, looking directly ahead.
- Head coverings for religious or medical reasons are allowed but must not obscure your face or cast shadows.
Photos will be rejected if:
- There’s no contrast (e.g., white shirt on white background).
- Unapproved headwear is worn.
- The face isn’t clearly visible, the photo is low resolution, or it doesn’t match your Government ID.
Pick-up & Delivery Options:
Pick up: Choose this option to collect your ID card at the Registrar's Office. You will receive an email when your card is ready (within 1-2 business days). You must provide valid government issued Photo ID when picking up your card.
Mail: Choose this option to have your card mailed to a Canadian address. You’ll receive an email confirmation, and it may take up to three weeks to receive your card.
Get Your Photo ID In-Person
- Visit the Registrar’s Office and Enrolment Services (Administration Humanities Building, 2nd floor, Room 210).
- Bring a valid physical government-issued photo ID.
- Have your photo taken and wait while your card is printed.
Starting September 2024, you’ll be able to use Regina City Transit by downloading an app on your smartphone. The U-Pass Card will no longer be included with your U of R Photo ID card.
If your current U of R Photo ID card includes the U-Pass, you can still use the Student ID side of the card. You don’t need to get a new card. For more details on the U-Pass and Regina City Transit, please visit the University of Regina Student Union Website.
If your Photo ID card is lost, stolen, or damaged, visit the Registrar’s Office and Enrolment Services (Administration Humanities Building, 2nd floor, Room 210) with a valid government-issued photo ID. The cost is $15.
If you’re unable to visit us in person, you can order a replacement through the Registrar’s Office Online Store. You can choose to keep the same photo or submit a new one by emailing registrar@uregina.ca. If the new photo isn’t received promptly, your current photo will be used. An email confirmation will be sent once payment is received and your new card is mailed or ready for pick-up.
Once a new card is issued, your old barcode will be deactivated, so please destroy your previous card.
As a Nursing student, you will receive two cards:
- One card has your University of Regina information on one side and your Saskatchewan Polytechnic information on the other. This will allow you to access the university services on campus.
- One card will be used when you are in your practice education setting during clinical courses and is required for entry into the setting. It will have printing on one side with a hole-punch at the top for a removable clip to attach to your clothing.
If you’re transferring to the Faculty of Nursing, you can visit the Registrar’s Office or use the Online Store to request a new card without the $15 replacement fee. Just select yes when prompted about your faculty transfer.
If you are a LINC student, you will need to visit the Registrar’s Office in person to obtain a Photo ID card. You’ll need to pay the $15 fee, provide valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., Passport or Driver’s License), and show your acceptance letter.
For Visiting Scholars or Visiting Research Scholars, your Photo ID card will have an expiry date based on your acceptance. Bring your acceptance letter and visit the Registrar’s Office and Enrolment Services (Administration Humanities Building, 2nd floor, Room 210) to obtain your card. You'll also need to provide a physical government-issued photo ID.
If your term is extended, being your card and your new letter of acceptance, and a new card will be issued at no cost.
