Saskatchewan's Graduate Retention Program (Undergraduate Students Only)

The Graduate Retention Program provides a rebate up to $20,000 of tuition fees paid by eligible graduates who live in Saskatchewan and who file a Saskatchewan income tax return.

Approved undergraduate programs must be equivalent to at least six months of full-time study and result in a certificate, diploma, or degree.

After you submit your graduation application, you will receive an email with details about how to provide consent for the University of Regina to apply for the Graduation Retention Program on your behalf.

You will have until November 30 of the year your credential is awarded to provide consent. If you select No, or you don’t complete the consent form by the deadline, you will have to apply on your own.

Your graduation information will be submitted at the end of the year in which your credential has been awarded. For example: If you graduated in 2024, your information will be submitted in early January 2025 for the 2024 tax year.

Important Notes

Your personal information must be current and formatted correctly to ensure your information transfers to the Government portal.

Review the following in UR Self-Service and update as necessary:

    • Preferred email address must be active.
    • Primary telephone number must be active.
    • Primary mailing address (MA) must be active.
    • SIN, Date of Birth, and Gender must be provided.

Any changes to your personal information after November 30 of the year your credential is awarded, will not be reflected in the transfer of information to the Government.

If you haven't received your invitation code from the Government of Saskatchewan, please call them toll-free at 1-800-597-8278. The University of Regina does not provide this code.
