Event Parking
Parking and Transportation Services strives to provide everyone with an exceptional parking experience. Contact us in the preliminary planning phase to discuss participant/attendee parking options.
Things to consider when booking parking:
- Who is paying - event organizer or attendee/guest?
- Are there special / accessible parking requirements? - Any reserved VIP/media? Additional accessible needed?
- Will buses be loading and unloading attendees / participants?
- Parking availability is very limited during the day throughout the academic year (September - April) .

- Identify any special/accessible parking requirements (any reserved VIP/media, etc. parking required).
- Will there be buses loading and unloading attendees/participants on campus
- Contact us to determine if parking is available on the proposed event date(s)
- Complete Event Request Form
Note: Parking applications must be received at least ten (10) working days prior to the event date.
- awareness of other event parking booked for the day
- special arrangements can be provided to the media, VIP's, buses, etc.
- We can prepare parking maps, signage, parking payment information, and parking ambassadors.
Once the event is over Organizers will be invoiced for a coupon code or flat lot rate, depending on the number of guests.
Attendees may use the PaybyPhone app or any campus pay station. Credit card payment is available at all pay stations, additionally cash is accepted at inside pay stations. Debit payments are not available at this time.
Priority 1 - President/Chancellor/Board of Governors/Senate is hosting an event related to the mission and strategic plans. RSVP's Institutional news conferences, media events and Convocation.
Priority 2 - Academic Departments - Core Academic / Educational activities / Lecture Series, seminars, University Open Houses, University Orientations
Priority 3 - Alumni events (AGM), Resident move-in / move-out days, Academic hosted conferences
Priority 4 - U of R student fundraisers such as Keg a Rama
Priority 5 - Non-University organizations. The event is not in the University's name and not in support of our academic mission plans. Parking rates apply 24/7. Lot suspensions are $1500 / lot / day.
