Dr. Baydoun is an oncology nurse and researcher. He has completed his PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 2019. Dr. Baydoun’s research focuses on the psychosocial and behavioral components of living with cancer. One area of his research examines the effects of mind-body interventions (e.g., mindfulness meditation, yoga) on mood and behavior in cancer patients and survivors. Another line of research examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the psychosocial and healthcare experiences of patients with cancer, with a focus on the design and evaluation of appropriate person-centred interventions to better serve this population.

Current Teaching

  • Dr. Baydoun currently teaches CNUR 202 Pharmacology Lab in the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program.

Current Research

  • Dr. Baydoun is currently conducting a secondary analysis of the iCare study (International COVID-19 Awareness and Responses Evaluation Study) large dataset to compare the impacts of COVID19 on psychosocial health and quality of life between cancer patients, patients with other chronic illness, and healthy individuals across diverse countries of the globe, and is also a Co-Investigator of a Canada wide clinical trial to evaluate a smartphone app-based mindfulness intervention in cancer survivors.
