Dr. Baydoun’s research focuses on improving psychosocial outcomes for individuals living with cancer and beyond. He explores various factors that impact mental health and investigates the use of complementary and integrative therapies to enhance wellbeing in oncology populations. His research focus has recently expanded to include the intersectionality between equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and psychosocial and mental health in people with cancer. In addition, he has conducted research on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted oncology populations.

Current Teaching
Dr. Baydoun has taught across the curricula. At the undergraduate level, he has used his expertise to teach research and mental health. At the graduate level, he has taught Transition to Advanced Practice Nursing to the nurse practitioner students. Dr. Baydoun often includes students as members of his research team, providing mentorship experiences and experiential knowledge of critical aspects of scientific inquiry.Recent Grants, Awards and Scholarships

Current Research
Dr. Baydoun is leading several ongoing research projects, including a clinical trial on the adaptation and effectiveness of a self-guided mindfulness-based intervention for individuals with lung cancer. Additionally, he is conducting a scoping review on the benefits and underlying mechanisms of mindfulness-based interventions for improving wellbeing in lung cancer survivors. Another key project is a qualitative study focused on the needs of cancer survivors in rural Saskatchewan.
