Karen Lehmann received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan along with a Bachelor of Arts. Years later Karen returned to the U of S to complete a Master of Nursing. This degree was completed primarily through distance education opportunities which led to an interest in the advantages which distance education can provide to those living in rural areas.
Karen enjoyed a 25 year career as a Public Health Nurse in a rural area of southern Saskatchewan. She has interests in the areas of Public Health, Maternal-Child, Social Determinants of Health and is keen on working in the area of child safety. Adult Education has always been a passion within her Public Health career and now she is happy to work within this area on a daily basis.
Within the SCBScN program, Karen has taught a variety of courses over all four years of the program, both face to face and on line, as well as a number of labs and seminars. She has worked with the curriculum and with Clinical Nurse Practica Coaches. As nurses we have the privilege of caring for our clients and being a part of their lives. Karen hopes to help students appreciate and understand this privilege.
