U-Prairie Challenge Winter Face-off at the Brandt Centre on January 7
Media are invited to attend the U-Prairie Challenge (UPC) Winter Face-off as the U of R Cougars take on the USask Huskies in a hockey double-header on Sunday, January 7 at the Brandt Centre in Regina. The event marks the culmination of the 2023-24 UPC season.
“This season has seen some great moments for our universities with close games and outstanding performances from all our teams,” said Jeff Keshen, President and Vice-Chancellor, University of Regina. “The double-header on January 7 will be a wonderful opportunity for our campus and wider communities to gather for a great day of hockey, as we cheer on our Cougars.”
While there are several games remaining in this year’s Challenge, this is the Regina wrap-up event for the 2023-24 UPC season. Sunday’s event will not only feature two exciting varsity sport hockey match-ups, but will also offer many family-friendly activities including live music, games, autographs from the Regina Pats, and giveaways of Cougars swag.

The U-Prairie Challenge presented by SaskMilk is a celebration of varsity sport in Saskatchewan. This annual points-based competition between the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan involves men’s and women’s events, including soccer, football, hockey, volleyball, basketball, track and field, and cross country.
