Dr. June LeDrew
June LeDrew, PhD is the longest serving member of the Faculty of Kinesiology & Health Studies. When she started in 1988 the academic unit was called the Faculty of Physical Activity Studies and instructors prepared course outlines on a typewriter (not on a rock with a chisel as she might tease). Over the 35 years of service to UofR, June’s teaching and research interests have been varied but focus primarily on children’s healthy, active lifestyles and providing students practical hands-on learning experiences and assignments. June is the author of several children’s picture books, the first in the series titled ‘Children on the Move: An Active Living Alphabet’. With the help of YouTube videos, June, and her spouse Rey, are currently building a tiny house from a shipping container and trying to train their two tiny puppies, Luna & Lucy.
