I’m a Professor in the area of biomechanics and the Associate Dean for the Undergraduate program in KHS. I received graduate degrees from the University of Ottawa (MSc) and University of Alberta (PhD) and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in biomechanics and motor control/motor learning. My research involves the use of wearable technology for locomotor assessment in sport science and health. Examples include the determination of gait variability in older adults and performance analysis in swimming. My research has received funding from Own the Podium (OTP) and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) as well as several awards (Paragon Award of Innovation, InnoCentive Challenge). I’ve supervised numerous graduate students and am a member of the College of Reviewers for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). I’m a former competitive swimmer and coach and enjoy music, watching sports, riding motorcycles and playing the guitar.
