Project of Heart
Wed., Jan. 18, 2023 6:30 p.m. - Wed., Jan. 18, 2023 8:30 p.m.
Location: Luthor College, Room 100
About the Event:
Luther College at The University of Regina is pleased to offer an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to join in the weekly Project of Heart experience on Wednesdays for eight weeks, beginning on January 18, 2023.
Project of Heart facilitates a safe space for reciprocal learning that both commemorates and begins to redress the legacy of residential schools in Canada. The National Truth and Reconciliation Commission identifies this program, created by UofR alumna Sylvia Smith, as a recommended activity towards reconciliation.
Project of Heart is an inquiry based, hands-on, collaborative, intergenerational, artistic and activist journey that examines the history and legacy of the residential school system forced upon Indigenous people in Canada. In our programming, we strive to include a broad spectrum of community educators and leaders from Indigenous communities for their guidance and knowledge.
