Mircogrid Testbed: An Overview, Research Directions and Potentials

We are indeed fortunate that through the efforts of Dr. Al-Anbagi and Doug Wagner in partnership with the Office of the Vice President Research the University has been awarded almost one million dollars for the creation of a testbed MicroGrid.
The MicroGrid is a self-sustaining electrical grid that co-locates generation, consumption, storage, and control.
The MicroGrid would act as a living lab for research and teaching, and will open unique possibilities for students and researchers interested in smart grid, renewable energy, and power technologies.
In this presentation, a brief overview of the MicroGrid technology, the living lab benefits, and research
potentials will be highlighted. The project progress, plans, and directions will be discussed. The presentation will be followed by a discussion period to allow the audience to ask questions and provide feedback to the team.
