How do I apply for casual positions?

Log in to the E-Recruit system using your username and password.

Our casual posting is ongoing. Hiring occurs as positions come available. The posting closes and is re-posted every three months.

The purpose of this posting is to build a pool of candidates for casual and short term positions to meet the needs of various departments and units on campus by carrying out a variety of office duties. These casual postings will be posted every 3 months and applicants will not be transferred to the new posting. To be considered for a casual clerical position, you will be required to re-apply every 3 months from the posting date.

If you are a student, please apply for the Casual Administrative Positions (University of Regina students), found under Staff Positions.

If you are not a student, please apply for the Casual Administrative Positions (non-students), found under Staff Positions.

If you have questions, please email the Human Resources Department.

How do I check the status of my application?

Log in to the e-Recruit system using your username and password.

The status displayed for that position will show on the Application Status column. For example, if the status is 'In Progress', that means the position has not yet been filled and that the process is still ongoing.

How do I make changes to my application?

Log in to the e-Recruit system using your username and password.

Once you have completed your application and applied for a posting, you will not be able to make changes to your application or attachments. It is important that you review your application and profile for any necessary changes before you apply to a position as no further changes can be made once your application has been submitted.

You will see a confirmation number when your application has been successfully submitted.

When you apply, the system takes a ‘snap shot’ of your profile as soon as you click on the ‘Apply to this Position’ button, tying that version of your profile to the position. If you make changes to your profile after you click this button, you will be able to attach the edited profile to new positions but will still see the original profile associated with that previous application.

Foreign Workers

The University of Regina encourages applications from all qualified candidates, but is required to give preference to qualified Canadian citizens and permanent residents. If the University is unable to find qualified Canadian or permanent resident applicants, we may consider workers from outside of Canada.

For more information on foreign workers, citizenship and immigration, please visit the Canadian Immigration & Citizenship website.

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) offers you a way to immigrate to Canada.

Non-Canadians who wish to make Saskatchewan their home can apply for residency through the SINP. As well, the SINP nominates successful applicants to the federal government, so they can gain permanent residency in Canada. The SINP is only one of the steps toward becoming a permanent resident in Saskatchewan.

For further information, please visit the SINP website.

Work & Study Permits

Non-Canadian residents must have either a valid work or study permit in order to work on campus. Human Resources requires a copy of the valid permit, as well as an updated copy should the permit be renewed.

Non-students applying for work must be legally entitled to work in Canada, by holding a valid work permit and in some cases a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment.

Students enrolled at the U of R with a valid study permit are eligible to work on campus, subject to guidelines set by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, as well as any restrictions on their permit. It is up to the student to know whether they are legally entitled to work. Students who have completed their program of study and are entitled to remain in Canada must have a valid work permit in order to work on campus.
