Living in residence doesn’t mean you have to do it alone! University of Regina's on-campus residence not only gives you access to exclusive spaces and a diverse group of students but also offers extra support if you need it.
Looking for a little more community? Great news! We have special residence communities made just for you. Find the perfect fit for that extra bit of support and connection. Choose your residence community on the residence application and make the most of your campus experience!
UR Priority: Your First-Year Residence Experience
UR Priority is a free program for all first-year students that will help make the transition from high school to university a little easier. First-year residents are mainly located in Kīšik Towers and College West for the best access to first-year programming and support. For more information on what UR Priority includes, check out the four pillars below.
First-year residents are automatically apart of UR Priorty, no extra steps required!
Grad and Mature Students Welcome!
Residence isn’t just for new students; it can also be a place for mature students and graduate students. The Housing and Hospitality Services team works to make sure you are located with like-minded individuals, so if you are registered in full-time courses and will be 24 years of age or older at the time of applying, you are welcome to check the “Mature Student” box in your application.
Post Doctoral students may be eligible to live in residence. Please email Housing.Services@uregina.ca to review your eligibility.
While space is limited, Housing and Hospitality Services tries to locate mature and grad students together so they can...
- Live with or near other mature students,
- Have a move-in ready place to stay
- Live in a convenient location and,
- Receive targeted promotions for mature and grad students
Gender-Based Communities
We understand that with a diverse group of residents, you may have different preferences for living with other genders. Whether your reasons are cultural, religious, or identity-specific, we offer residence community options for your specific needs.
If you don't select a gender option on your application, no problem! You will be located on a floor with multiple genders. For example, female-identifying apartments and male-identifying apartments may share the same floor. If this works for you, skip this section on your application!

Colourful Campus Housing: Residence Community for 2SLGBTQIAP+
The University of Regina, in partnership with the UR Pride Centre offers inclusive, accessible campus residence. Colourful Campus residence welcomes 2SLGBTQIAP+ students and allies to a safe and comfortable space. Live with your peers in a supportive community with discreet residence in a supported environment and special programs. Discover Living-Learning Communities (LLC)
Join a Living-Learning Community (LLC) to live and connect with like-minded students in your faculty or interest group. Enjoy customized Residence Life programming, free access to select events, and free tutoring on request.
As an Living-Learning Community member, you'll be located near peers in your community giving you a built-in support network for social, personal, academic, and career development. Choose the Living-Learning Community option in your residence application to see which Living-Learning Community is best suited for you.
Living-Learning Community availability is subject to change.
What is the time commitment?
Feel free to participate in Living-Learning Community and Residence Life events as your schedule allows!
Can you still make a roommate request?
Yes, you can request roommates if you both apply to residence and are accepted into the same Living-Learning Community.
Are there any academic requirements?
If you select an academic Living-Learning Community: including Hill Business, Science, Education, Arts, MAP (Media, Art, and Performance), or Engineering, you must be registered in that given faculty. Academic Living-Learning Community's are limited to first-year students.
Interest-based Living-Learning Community's, like Global Citizen, Neekaneewak, Health & Wellness and Le Quartier Francophone, are open to all residents.
Is there a charge to join and Living-Learning Community?
Each Living-Learning Community has a programming fee of $100 for the Fall and Winter terms. This includes covering the costs of Living-Learning Community Focus programming throughout the academic year.

How do I apply to be in an Living-Learning Community?
To apply to an Living-Learning Community just complete that section on your residence application!
If you previously applied for student residence but did not apply to an Living-Learning Community, you're in luck! You can still apply by logging into your original application and completing the Living-Learning Community portion including your Living-Learning Community preferences. Successful applicants will be asked to complete the Living-Learning Community Expectations agreement before a given date.
Please note: Due to the specific location of each Living-Learning Community, chosen participants may be located in a different room type than they were originally offered by Housing and Hospitality Services.
