Master Your Payments and Fees

We understand that managing payments and fees is an important part of your residence experience. We realize, it is a big responsibility. To support you, we've prepared a clear breakdown of all payments and fees during your stay. We're here to help you succeed.

Full payments for the Fall and Winter terms are due on the first official day of classesFor those who need extra time for their payment, we provide a payment plan option. Find out if a Payment Plan is right for you by visiting the Payment Guide 

Spring and Summer Term: Full payment is due by the first day of classes for the term or upon move-in. Residents who do not make full payment are automatically enrolled in a payment plan. Installments are due on the first business day of each month.

Fall and Winter Terms: Full payment is due the first day of classes for the term. Residents who do not make full payment are automatically enrolled in a payment plan. Installments are due on the first business day of each month.

What is my room rate? Your room rate is the total fee to rent your room each term. All rates listed below are per person, per bedroom, each term. Room rates are different based on the room type.

What is a payment plan monthly installment? One payment plan installment is equal to your room rate split into four equal parts. Payment plans are meant for students who need extra time with their residence fees, find out if a payment plan is right for you in the Payment Guide.

Rates for 2025-2026 are subject to change and will be posted once approved.

Are you Joining us for Spring and Summer?

Did you know that the University of Regina offers accommodations for students during the Spring and Summer terms (May-August)? Since only select rooms are available during these terms, room options are limited on your Spring and Summer applications. Apply early to increase your chances of securing your preferred room! 

*For returning residents Housing and Hospitality Services will try to locate you in your room of choice, but we cannot guarantee same-room selection over the Spring & Summer term based on room availability.

Need-to-know for Spring & Summer Term

  • Meal plans are NOT mandatory during the Spring/Summer Term. 
  • In preparation for the Fall term, residents who stay during the Spring/Summer, with no Fall & Winter booking, must move out of student residence as written in their Residence Contract.  
  • Those who will continue to live in residence for the Fall & Winter may be required to change rooms based on their Fall & Winter Booking.

Meal Plans and More!

All residents are welcome to check out the meal plan options. Residents in dorm-style rooms (dormatories and shared dorms) do not have access to a kitchen, occupants are required to purchase a meal plan for each of the Fall and Winter terms.*  

*Residents in dorm-style rooms without a meal plan will be asked to change room types. 

 

Make sure you know THIS about your meal plan:

  • Residents in dorm-style rooms must purchase a meal plan or declining balance card with a minimum balance of $1,500 for each of the Fall and Winter terms. 
  • After payment students are issued a meal card. A meal card must be presented at every meal.  
  • Meal plans must be paid in full before they can be collected.  
  • Meal plans expire at the end of every term. 
  • There is no reimbursement for missed meals. 
  • Dietary restrictions are accommodated, when possible, but not guaranteed. 
  • Meals are dine-in or take-out.

Learn About Your Tenants Insurance

We want to make sure that you, the University, and your belongings are protected. That’s why, if you live in residence, you require tenant insurance. Don't worry—you're automatically covered by the Housing and Hospitality Services partner Marsh Insurance! If you have your own insurance provider or are covered under your parents or guardians insurance, please click the opt-out linkTo opt out, Marsh Insurance requires proof of other coverage. 

Rates listed are for 2024-2025 and are subject to change by the provider.

What's Included?

  • $10,000 Contents Coverage: Protects your personal belongings in your room and residence from fire, theft, or water damage. 
  • $1,000,000 Personal Liability Coverage: Covers legal expenses and damages if you accidentally cause damage to the building, another person's property, or injure someone. 
  • $2,500 Additional Living Expenses: Covers extra costs if you need temporary residence due to insured damage making your room uninhabitable. 

Costs per term

These fees will be added to your Housing and Hospitality Services account at the start of each term.  
  • Coverage over the Winter Term (if you move-in between January 1 - April 30) = $42.50 + PST 
  • Coverage over the Spring & Summer (if you move-in between May 1 - August 14) = $42.50 + PST 
  • Coverage over the Fall & Winter Term (if you move-in between August 15 - December 31) = $80.00 + PST

Opt-Out Deadlines

  • For the Fall & Winter term: September 15  
  • For the Winter term only: January 15 
Important: By opting out, you take full responsibility for your own content and liability insurance while living in residence. Opting out requires proof of other coverage.
