Internal Scholarships
The W. Givens-Smith SEDCO Scholarship was established at the University of Regina in 1982 by the SEDCO Board of Directors, in honour of William Givens-Smith, who served as a fifteen-year board member for the Saskatchewan Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO). The scholarship will be presented in each scholastic year to Master's students entering any Master's program in Administration.
Eligibility
There are three awards at $4,574 for full-time students and two awards at $2,287.50 for part-time students.
Presented annually to Master's students who meet the following criteria:
- Entering (1st, 2nd or 3rd semester only) a Master of Business Administration or Master of Public Administration or Master of Human Resource Management;
- Full-time or part-time;
- Have a minimum CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 80%;
- Must be a Saskatchewan resident, which for the purpose of this scholarship means:
-The applicant has always lived in Saskatchewan, or
-The applicant's spouse has filled a Saskatchewan income tax return for the last tax year, or
-The applicant's parents filed a Saskatchewan income tax return for the last tax year.
-Through application in writing, not to exceed one page, highlight community volunteer accomplishments.
Application Information
In addition, students will need to upload the following:
- Applicants must submit a document, not to exceed one page, highlighting community volunteer accomplishments; and a statement confirming Saskatchewan residency (how long you have lived in Saskatchewan and where); and
- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled ‘Unofficial Transcript' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.
IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
