Internal Scholarships
As one of North America's premier financial institutions and Canada's most international bank, Scotiabank has identified the importance of cross-cultural experiences for students. The Scotiabank International Award, created at the University of Regina, supports a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to study internationally in a structured, post-secondary program.
Eligibility
Preference given to:
- Students wishing to study in the Americas and/or a Caribbean country;
- Students who have been engaged as a volunteer in a project supporting the community.
Graduate Student Criteria:
- Accepted as a fully-qualified graduate student;
- Registered as a full-time graduate student in the semester the award is held;
- Has completed all course work in his/her Master's program and has had his/her thesis or project proposal approved; or, all course work and comprehensive exam in his/her Doctoral degree; and
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 75%.
Application Information
In addition, students will need to upload the following:
- One page statement which includes the following information:
- Which country in the Americas or Caribbean student wishes to study;
- How the award will foster a direct opportunity in supporting the student's research; and
- Expected travel dates.
- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled ‘Unofficial Transcript' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.
IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
