Internal Scholarships
NASSM (North American Society for Sport Management) is actively involved in support and assisting professionals working in the fields of sport, leisure and recreation. The purpose of the North American Society for Sport Management is to promote, stimulate, and encourage study, research, scholarly writing, and professional development in the area of sport management - both theoretical and applied aspects. The NASSM Scholarship in Recreation & Sport Management created at the University of Regina supports a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to foster a direct focus in supporting sport management studies.
Eligibility
The scholarship will be presented to a University of Regina undergraduate or graduate student with a preference given to graduate students.
- Accepted as a fully- qualified graduate student;
- Enrolled in a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Health Studies degree program, or the PhD in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, specializing in sport and recreation management;
- Minimum CGPA of 80%;
- Must be registered as a full-time student (six credit hours) in the semester in which the award is presented;
- Research topic is relevant to recreation and/or sport management;
- Evidence of relevant publications and/or presentations; and
- Evidence of professional development as related to recreation and/or sport management.
Note: Preference will be given to a graduate student.
Student may re-apply for the scholarship while completing an academic program at the University of Regina.
Application Information
In addition, students will need to upload the following:
- Resume/CV demonstrating evidence of relevant publications and/or presentations and professional development related to recreation and/or sport management; and
- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled 'Current Registration & List of Courses (Unofficial Transcript)' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.
IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
