The KHS/Varsity Sport Student Emergency Bursary was established in 2021 by the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies through various donations from donors who wish to assist Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies students and/or varsity sport student athletes. The bursary will provide financial support to students facing emergent financial hardship that could impact their academic success.

Eligibility

The bursary will be presented to University of Regina graduate students who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must appear on the U SPORTS team eligibility roster in the academic year in which the award is presented AND meets the current U SPORTS eligibility and funding requirements for either an entering, continuing or post-secondary transfer student (for graduate or undergraduate students);
- OR enrolled in any program in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies; and
- Completes a written statement (no more than one page) demonstrating emergency financial need.

Note:
- Students can only receive this bursary once in an academic calendar year.
- Student-athletes who have achieved Academic All-Canadian status in the preceding academic year of study will be exempt from counting as part of the awards team complement limits.

Application Information

In addition, students will need to upload the following:

- One page statement demonstrating emergency financial need (tell us your story as to WHY or the nature of your financial need); and

- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled 'Current Registration & List of Courses (Unofficial Transcript)' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.

IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
