Internal Scholarships
The George Ira Hanson Fellowship was established in 1986 by the Estate of George Ira Hanson to assist students who are pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Regina, whose focus is on the protection and conservation of renewable resources, and the wise use and management of non-renewable resources.
Eligibility
Funds are to support graduate students, and are to assist in professional development and/or conference-related expenses, such as registration fees, transportation and/or accommodation.
The award will be used to support research projects that advance University of Regina graduate students' professional and academic development. The award will be presented to a University of Regina student who meets the following criteria:
- Must be a graduate student;
- Participating in research involving sustainability such as resource use, management and conservation; and
- Applications are to be submitted four to six months prior to proposed departure.
Application Information
In addition, students will need to upload the following:
- In 150 - 200 words describe how your research focuses on the protection and conservation of renewable resources, including sustainability, conservation and management of non-renewable resources; and
- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
