Internal Scholarships
The Dr. James McConica Graduate Award in Humanities was established in 2024 to support a graduate student entering a program in the Humanities in the Faculty of Arts.
Eligibility
The scholarship will be presented to a University of Regina graduate student who meets the following criteria:
- In their first year (first, second or third semester) in a Graduate program in the Humanities in the Faculty of Arts;
- Preference given to those in financial need;
- Student must complete a written statement (up to 350 words) that demonstrates volunteer activity;
- Registered and remains registered in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the term the award is
presented.
Note: The U of R Secretariat includes the following departments as Humanities departments: Philosophy; Journalism; Gender, Religion and Critical Studies; English; International Languages; History.
Application Information
In addition, students will need to upload the following:
- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled 'Current Registration & List of Courses (Unofficial Transcript)' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.
IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
- One page written statement demonstrating financial need. Tell us your story as to WHY or the nature of your financial need; and
- Student must complete a written statement (up to 350 words) that demonstrates volunteer activity;
All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
