A legacy from the 2005 Canada Games, the goal of this fellowship is to attract and retain the best graduate students by providing them opportunities to pursue research in key areas of sport and recreation management. Research conducted by the Canada Games Graduate Fellowship in Sport and Recreation Management would have the goal of improving sport and/or recreation delivery systems in Canada.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be accepted as a fully-qualified graduate student and be entering or a continuing student in a Master's, Doctoral or Special Case Doctoral program;
- Be pursuing research in sport or recreation management;
- Must be enrolled full-time during the tenure of the fellowship; and
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 80%

Preference will be given to students pursuing a Doctoral or Special Case Doctoral degree through the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the University of Regina.
Will be paid out in Fall semester.

Application Information

In addition, students will need to upload the following:

- two (2) page description of the goals of the research and proposed methodology. Description must be signed by student and his/her University of Regina faculty supervisor;

- three (3) letters of reference. (please make sure that you ask the persons providing the letters of reference well in advance of submitting this application if they are willing to provide you with a letter of reference); and

- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled ‘Unofficial Transcript' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.

IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
