The Button Family Military and First Responders Graduate Research Award was established in 2021 to support a graduate student who has demonstrated financial need and is a current/past member of the military or first responder, or the immediate family member of a current/past member of the military or first responder.

Eligibility

The scholarship will be presented to a University of Regina graduate student who meets the following criteria:
- Enrolled in a graduate program in any faculty;
- Is a fully-qualified graduate student;
- Is a current/past member of the Canadian military or first responder, or the immediate family member of a current/past member of the Canadian military or first responder; and
- Demonstrated financial need.

Notes:
In the event of similar applicants, preference will be given with the following priority order:
1. Preference given to current/past members of the Canadian military and current/past first responders, or their immediate family members.
2. Students who demonstrate financial need.

Application Information

In addition, students will need to upload the following:

- One page written financial needs statement (Tell us your story as to WHY or the nature of your financial need);

- Demonstrate proof that you are your immediate family member are a current/past member of the Canadian military or first responder; and

- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled 'Current Registration & List of Courses (Unofficial Transcript)' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.

IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.

All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
