City of Regina Henry Baker Scholarships

The purpose of the Henry Baker Scholarship Program is to:

• support the aim of the City's economic development strategy to foster the potential of Regina's growing Aboriginal community;
• reflect the City of Regina's commitment to employment equity; and
• recognize the important role the University of Regina, First Nations University of Canada and Saskatchewan Polytechnic play in our community.

Eligibility

• registered as a full-time master's or doctoral student at the University of Regina in the Fall semester
• have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 80%
• thesis or graduate studies (course-based students) relates to a community issue

Application Information

• An application form (available from the City of Regina website)
• Transcripts (official or unofficial)
• Attach a two page summary of:
  
  • your community involvement, volunteerism and personal or family life experiences;
  • your academic and career objectives;
  • why financial support would be helpful to you;
  • graduate students must also describe how their thesis or graduate studies (for course-based students) relates to a community issue.
• Submission Format: Attachments must be typed and should be no more than two pages
• Reference letters are not required and will not be considered
• FULL INFORMATION MUST BE INCLUDED IN YOUR APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE REVIEWED
