U of R Orchestra Presents Folk and Fire - The Music of Ukraine and Finland

Join us for a thrilling concert celebrating the rich musical traditions of Ukraine and Finland. The program opens with Mykola Lysenko’s Taras Bulba Overture, a bold and dramatic piece inspired by the legendary Cossack warrior. Next, a selection of Ukrainian folk songs brings to life the energy and beauty of traditional melodies. The evening concludes with Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1 in E Minor, a powerful and emotional work that captures the vast Nordic landscapes and Finnish spirit.
