In 2007, Paul J. Hill and his family made a historic donation of $10 million to the University of Regina. This generous contribution, the largest in the University's history, led to the renaming of the undergraduate business programs as the Paul J. Hill School of Business. This gift not only established the school's new identity but also fostered a unique relationship with the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, enhancing the educational experience through the renowned business case approach to teaching and learning.
Commitment to Education
Paul Hill's commitment to education extends beyond the University of Regina. He has also supported Athol Murray College of Notre Dame and Mother Teresa Middle School in Regina, institutions dedicated to helping underprivileged children. Additionally, Paul founded One Life Makes a Difference, a charitable foundation that assists disadvantaged youth, further showcasing his dedication to empowering the next generation.

On Canada Day 2015, he was appointed to the Order of Canada by Governor General David Johnston, one of the country's highest civilian honors. In 2010, he was knighted by Pope Benedict XVI as a Knight of St. Sylvester for his charitable work, and in 2011, he received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Regina.

Paul Hill's community involvement is deeply rooted in his family heritage. His grandfather, Walter, was active in the insurance and land development business even before Regina became a city in 1903. The Frederick W. Hill Mall in downtown Regina is named after his father, Fred Hill. Since 1978, Paul has been the president of The Hill Companies, which operate in various sectors, including real estate, insurance, broadcasting, oil and gas, manufacturing, and technology. His leadership was pivotal in the 1991 transaction that secured the controlling interest in Crown Life and relocated its head office from Toronto to Regina.
