Asmundson Excellence in Mental Health and Wellness Graduate Entrance Award
In response to society’s increasing demand for mental health resources and treatment, the University of Regina is establishing a new graduate student entrance award designed to support graduate students in their pursuit of higher education in fields related to Mental Health and Wellness, such as clinical psychology, experimental and applied psychology, and sociology.
This award – the Asmundson Excellence in Mental Health and Wellness Graduate Entrance Award – honours the pioneering work of Dr. Gordon J. G. Asmundson, OC, SOM, Ph.D., FRSC, FCAHS, a distinguished faculty member, President's Research Chair in Adult Mental Health, and the Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Regina, whose work on trauma-related disorders and chronic pain has significantly influenced the development and advancement of psychology as a science and evidence-based treatment worldwide.
Together, with your support, we can collectively contribute to improving the education of future generations of mental health professionals and improve the lives of the many Canadians facing mental health challenges.
