Newcomers to Canada

The University of Regina welcomes students who are new to Canada to study with us. Whether you are still in high school, a post-secondary transfer student, or an adult learner, you will earn a quality education and receive individualized attention to help you achieve academic success. If you are looking for flexibility, we offer plenty of evening, weekend, and online courses, along with personalized support services.

If you are a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada, or Refugee:

You are a domestic student and will apply through the domestic student Enrolment Services Office.

If you plan to study on a study permit:

You are an international student and you will apply for admission through the UR International Admissions Office.

If you're interested in a Masters or PhD program:

You will apply through Graduate Studies (for both International and Domestic students).

If you're interested in learning English as a Second Language (ESL):

You can take our ESL programs to get ready for an university program, enhance your workplace communication, or immerse yourself in Canadian language and culture.

As a newcomer myself, I highly recommend the University of Regina. The welcoming environment made for a smooth transition to university life.
