Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigenization
The graduate certificate in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigenization (EDII) goes beyond basic diversity training and delves into more advanced concepts and strategies for fostering inclusive workplaces and promoting equity in various aspects of business. This program focuses on the attitudes, behaviours, and practices needed to address bias and marginalization, and how to foster an inclusive organizational culture within workplaces.

Master degree credit
Graduates can ladder into the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) or the Master of Administration in Leadership (MAdmin) depending on their interests and work experience. The certificate courses can count towards their prospective program.

This program’s instructors are experts on the topic of women and leadership and the barriers that women face to obtaining and maintaining leadership positions. Applicants must meet the entrance requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.
Normally, they must hold a four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum average of 70 per cent. They are required to have at least two years of full-time relevant working experience.

This program also accepts applicants through the mid-career option (those who do not meet the post-secondary requirements, but have seven or more years of work experience).
GBUS 875 - Women in Leadership
This course is designed to enhance understanding of issues relevant to women in leadership and the implications for organizations (e.g., opportunities, exclusion). Topics include leadership styles, women on boards, strategies for change, learning to become a leader, media representation, intra-gender relations between women, cross-cultural considerations, and entrepreneurship. The course will combine both scholarly and practitioner-based considerations and challenge students to surface and unsettle taken for granted assumptions about women in leadership. Guest speakers from industry and academia will be invited to share their views on specific topics to enhance the learning experience.
GBUS 876 - Managing Diversity
This course examines the increasing diversity of the work force and the resulting issues faced by organizations such as maintaining fairness and justice, making effective management decisions, allowing flexibility, and managing in a global environment. The course also examines legal frameworks that protect employee and employer rights related to dimensions of diversity.
GBUS 851AA - Indigenous Business and Leadership
This course considers historical and contemporary topics relating to Indigenous business and leadership of relevance to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders and organizations. A broad range of topics, issues, and contexts may be considered, such as Indigenous leadership styles, issues, and responsibilities, Indigenous rights, governance, economic development, civic activism, and decolonization.
