
Privacy and Terms of Use
The University of Regina website consists of the material provided under the uregina.ca domain (http://www.uregina.ca) and several hundred subdomains (from now on referred to collectively as the “Site”).
Your access to and use of the Site shall be governed by the following Terms of Use. The University of Regina reserves the right to amend these Terms of Use without notice. Site use is also governed by the University’s Use of Computer and Network Systems Policy.
All material provided on the Site is intended for educational or informational purposes only and should not be used to replace either official documents (except where the material on the Site is explicitly identified as comprising the official version of a document) or the advice of a qualified professional.

Non-Commercial Reproduction
The information on the Site is for the use of the University community and the public for personal or non-commercial use. Unless otherwise specified, it may be reproduced, in whole or in part, and by any means without charge or needing permission.

No Advice or Warranties
You shall be fully responsible for any consequences resulting from using the Site. The University of Regina and its faculties, colleges, schools, departments, faculty members, agents, officers or employees (collectively the “University”) do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, completeness or reliability of any of the Information, content or advertisements (collectively the “Information”) displayed, contained on, distributed through, or linked, downloaded or accessed from the Site, nor the quality of any products, Information or other materials displayed, purchased, obtained or used by you as a result of the Information in connection with the Site. While efforts are made to verify the Information, the Site may contain typographical or other errors and should not be assumed to be error-free. Furthermore, some Information on the Site has been provided by third parties and has not necessarily been verified by the University.
Any reliance upon any Information shall be at your sole risk. The University reserves the right, at its sole discretion without any obligation, to make improvements to or correct any errors or omissions in any part of the Site or the Information.

Links are provided for convenience and information only. The University bears no responsibility for the external Site's accuracy, legality, content or subsequent links. In providing links to other sites, the University is not acting as a publisher or disseminator of the material on these other sites. It does not seek to control the content of or maintain editorial control over such sites.
A link on the Site to another website should not be construed as meaning that the University is associated with or is legally authorized to use any trademark, trade name, logo, or copyrighted symbol that may be reflected in the link or the description of the link to such other websites. Trademarks
Certain words, phrases, names, designs or logos used on the Site may constitute trademarks, official marks, service marks or trade names of the University or other entities. The display of such marks or names on the Site does not imply that the University or other entities have granted a license or authorization to use such marks or names.
Submissions
All information submitted to the University via the Site shall be deemed to be and remain the property of the University. The University shall be free to use, for any purpose, any ideas, concepts, know-how or other techniques contained in information provided to the University through the Site or e-mail unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the University. Furthermore, the University shall not be subject to any confidentiality obligations regarding any such information submitted to it unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the University.
The Internet is not secure, and privacy cannot be ensured. Internet e-mail is vulnerable to interception and forgery. The University will not be responsible for any damages you or any third party may suffer as a result of the transmission of confidential information to the University through the Internet or that you expressly or implicitly authorize the University to transmit to you through the Internet or for any errors or any changes made to any electronically transmitted information. If you are concerned about sending your personal or confidential information to the University via the Internet, you can use another method such as telephone, fax or regular mail.
Privacy
Your use of and access to the Site is subject to the University’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Policy.
The Site does not automatically gather personal information from you unless you voluntarily provide it to the University by contacting us via e-mail or completing and submitting an online form. Personal data (such as name, address, phone number, and e-mail address) obtained from Site users is collected, managed, used and disclosed by the University according to The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (Saskatchewan).
If you should choose to provide us with personal information—in an e-mail or by filling out a form and submitting it to us through the Site —we will use that information to respond to your message and to help us get the information you have requested.
Information Collected Automatically via the Site
Information is collected on the Site through a variety of methods. While we do not attempt to link the information captured to the identity of individual visitors to the Site, logs capture aggregate, generic, and non-personally identifying information about Site visitors. The University uses a third-party web analytics service to capture the following information to improve website performance and user experience:
- The Internet domain and IP address from which you access the Site;
- The type of browser and operating system used to access the Site
- The date and time you access the Site;
- The pages you visit and
- If you link to this Site from another website, the address of that website.
No Collection of Personal Information
The University does not collect personal information for commercial marketing or distribution to third parties.Cookies
The Site uses cookies to track visitors’ use. If you are concerned about using cookies, you can refer to the help information in your browser software for instructions on how to turn them off. If you wish to delete cookies from your device, consult your browser’s help files for instructions on how to do so.
Some University of Regina websites may distribute a tiny “cookie” file to your browser. Such files allow us to provide personalized information on your future website visits and may be used for remarketing purposes. Remarketing targets advertising based on internet activity and may involve third parties such as Google or Facebook displaying advertising or messaging from the university on other sites. No personally identifying information is collected with cookies. If you wish, you may change the settings on your web browser to deny cookies or to warn you when cookies will be deposited.
Security
For the Site's security, the University employs software programs to monitor network traffic and identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise cause damage.
Except for authorized investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users.
Access and Interference
In using the Site, you agree that you will not use any device, software, or process to interfere or attempt to interfere with its proper functioning. You also agree that you will not use any robot, spider, other automatic device, or manual process to impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the University’s infrastructure. An “unreasonable or disproportionately large load” prevents other University community members from gaining fair and equitable access to web-based systems and resources.
Computer Viruses
While every effort is made to ensure that information provided on the Site does not contain computer viruses, you should take reasonable and appropriate precautions to scan for computer viruses. You should also ensure that you have a complete and current backup of the applicable items or information contained in your computer system. You should pay specific attention to some of the newer viruses written to automatically execute when an infected Word processing document is loaded into specific Word processing programs.
Choice of Law
The laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the laws of Canada applicable therein shall apply to your use of the Information and the Site and as to the interpretation, validity and effect of these Terms of Use, notwithstanding any conflict of laws provisions of your domicile, residence or physical location. You hereby consent and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Saskatchewan in any action or proceeding instituted under or related to your use of the Information or the Site.
