About the Process

We understand the importance of family and connection and the positive impact it can have on your experience here as a student. Review the information below about our policies and procedures for requesting an Invitation Letter to support your immediate family members' visa applications.

Important: Having an Invitation Letter does not guarantee the approval of your family members' visa application. Invitation Letters can only be issued to currently registered international students who hold valid study permits and can only be requested for immediate family members according to IRCC’s definition.

Family members include:

  • Spouse or Common-Law Partner
  • Dependent Children
  • Parents
  • Siblings
  • Grandparents
