Our International Peer Advisor team is here to ease your transition to the Canadian academic system and your new living and cultural environment! Commonly referred to as our student leadership team, our mentors are dedicated to offering a wide range of knowledge and perspective through their own experiences to all of our new and returning international students!
How our Team can Help
Our International Peer Advisors can:
- help with navigating UR Courses and UR Self-Service
- help you understand classroom and academic expectations
- offer guidance and support for your cultural adjustment
- attend exciting events, workshops, and sessions on campus
- share intercultural and international experiences
- help you manage your time and priorities as a student
- help you develop your leadership and organizational skills
- help you be a part of our diverse and vibrant community

Upon Completing the Program
When you complete the program, you'll receive:
- a Certificate of Achievement
- a UR International Co-Curricular Record
- an Honorarium ($$)
- a chance to win the International Peer Advisor Award of Excellence
- a letter of reference
- a digital badge through CESL (Cultural Awareness Badge)
Program Eligibility and Requirements
To become an International Peer Advisor, you must first:
- be enrolled and remain registered in classes at the University of Regina
- Have completed a minimum of 2 semesters towards your program of study
- Be in good academic standing with a minimum UGPA of 70%
To complete the program, International Peer Advisors must participate in or attend:
- 10 International Peer Advising Hours
- 3 Intercultural Awareness Workshops
- 1 International Experience Event
