International Agreement Process
We collaborate closely with faculties, research units, and other campus stakeholders to develop appropriate agreements and facilitate successful collaborations with our international partners.
The time required to finalize an agreement varies and depends on several factors, including the complexity of the agreement, response times from our partners, consultations with our team and campus stakeholders, and the internal approval process. This process can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.
Learn about the multiple steps involved in our agreement process.
This is the initial step to review and evaluate the proposed international partnership request, ensuring it aligns with the University of Regina's internationalization strategies and objectives.
A review process will be conducted in consultation with relevant campus units and stakeholders to determine the appropriate type of agreement that may be required.
We will draft and negotiate with partner institutions, collaborating to formalize a draft that ensures all negotiated terms and conditions are included.
If any edits or changes are made to the U of R's agreement templates, or if the partner institution's template is used, it is essential for the U of R's Legal Counsel to review the finalized draft agreement.
Once all reviews are completed and feedback is incorporated, the agreement will be submitted for internal approval, involving UR International senior leadership, relevant faculty members (if necessary), Deans (if necessary), and the Vice-President (Academic). The agreement is then signed by the President or an authorized signatory from both institutions.
