2024 Turtle Island Indigenous Science Conference
We are excited to announce the 2024 Turtle Island Indigenous Science Conference will take place at First Nations University of Canada, the University of Regina, and the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council Centre May 21 through 23, 2024. Please mark these dates in your calendars, as we look forward to your participation in the conference.
The overarching theme of this year’s conference is Evidence-based approaches to Indigenous Knowledge and Science. Conference sessions will be devoted to:
- Authentic and inclusive approaches to discovery and teaching
- Engaging youth in STEM
- Indigenous engagement with water, land, and the environment
- Relationships, partnerships, and sharing knowledges in a good way
- Open sessions on other topics
This conference builds on the inaugural event hosted by the University of Manitoba in 2022 (https://event.fourwaves.com/turtleisland2022/pages), and future conferences are planned for 2026 and 2028 in Waterloo and Lethbridge.
We invite you to come together to honour ancestral knowledge, explore cutting-edge research, and connect with Indigenous scholars.
Full conference details and registration opportunities will be posted on our conference website (https://event.fourwaves.com/2024tiisc/pages) in February 2024.
Sincerely,
