Research

The faculty, staff, and students of the Department of Computer Science contribute to the worldwide research effort in Computer Science. As part of this effort, we are inventing new ways of applying computation to human problems, analyzing the effectiveness of computational techniques, and testing them in applications.

Associated Labs and Groups

Laboratory for Computational Discovery

The Laboratory for Computational Discovery is a University of Regina research facility that includes the research groups, originally across 3 faculties (when we were known as the Institute of Computational Discovery), and lately across 4 departments within the Faculty of Science (chemistry, computer science, math and stats, and physics). We work in the fields of data mining and visualization, molecule property predictions, molecular dynamics simulations, mathematical computations, and statistics.

Director: Dr. Howard J. Hamilton

Web Intelligence Consortium (WIC)

The Web Intelligence Consortium (WIC) is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing scientific research and industrial development in the field of Web Intelligence. WIC promotes collaborations among global WI research centers and organizational members, showcases technology at WI related conferences and workshops, and publishes official books, journals, newsletters, industrial solutions, and standards.

Web Intelligence Academy President: Dr. Yiyu Yao
