External Funding Sources

Tri-agency Funding

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) are referred to collectively as the Tri-Agency. These are the three main sources of Canadian federal research funding and are focused toward a common goal to advance Canada's research excellence.

Provincial Funding

At the University of Regina, impactful research has been made possible through the support and funding of the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) and the Agriculture Development Fund (ADF). As the primary provincial sources of funding, SHRF and ADF have played a pivotal role in fueling ground breaking research endeavors within our institution.

Other Federal Funding

The NFRF funds Canadian-led research that is interdisciplinary, high-risk/high-reward, transformative, and responsive.

Some of our institution's researchers have had the priviledge of securing funding from this program, enabling them to embark on impactful research endevours.
