Congratulations on your hard-earned accomplishment! Your parchment—whether it’s a certificate, diploma, or degree—officially marks your success and all the effort you’ve invested.

Parchments are presented during the U of R’s convocation ceremonies in June and October.

Alumni, are you looking for a duplicate or replacement of your parchment? Learn how to submit a request.

Your Name on Your Parchment

Your full legal name on record will be printed on your parchment and transcript. You can find your parchment (diploma) name in the confirmation email you received after you applied to graduate or in UR Self-Service under Graduation Application Status. If your name is different than your legal name and you’d like it printed on a parchment you have the option to purchase a display copy parchment by completing the online Display Copy Parchment Request form.

If there are errors in your name (e.g., a missing middle name), correct them by:

  • Undergraduate Students: Visit the Registrar’s Office and Enrolment Services (AH 210) with a government-issued photo ID showing your full legal name or email a scan of the ID from your @uregina.ca account to registrar@uregina.ca.
  • Graduate Students: Contact the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at grad.studies@uregina.ca.

Change of Legal name

If your legal name has changed, please complete the Change of Legal Name form (PDF).

To avoid parchment reprint fees, the deadline to complete a change of legal name request is four (4) weeks before your credential is awarded.

If you have already received your parchment and change your legal name, you can order a Replacement Parchment.

My name was misspelled on my parchment. How can I have this corrected?

Notify us by sending an email to ur.graduation@uregina.ca. Parchments are printed with your full legal name on record. If your name was incorrect in the system, you will be responsible for reprinting and shipping fees.

Digital Parchment

Digital parchments must be uploaded with your full legal name.  You will automatically receive an email from MyCredsTM  | MesCertifCM  when your secure, free-of-charge digital parchment is ready to access.

Digital parchments are typically uploaded about 10 business days after your graduation is approved.

If you graduated before 2019, you can submit a digital parchment request.

Early Release of Parchment

If you need your parchment before convocation, you may order an Early Release of Parchment (ERP) for a fee.

After your graduation is approved, please allow 7-10 days for processing. This timeframe does not include shipping time. Orders must be received by the following dates:

  • May 15 for spring convocation parchments
  • September 15 for fall convocation parchments

Note: A request for an ERP does not initiate early graduation approval by your faculty. Contact your faculty to find out when your credential will be awarded before submitting your request.

If you need immediate proof of pending graduation, please discuss your options with your faculty or federated college.

The University of Regina is not responsible for meeting external deadlines or ensuring delivery.

You are responsible for the costs of remailing and reprinting any returned or lost parchments.

Display Copy Parchment

If your name is different than your legal name and you’d like it printed on a parchment you have the option to purchase a display copy parchment by completing the online Display Copy Parchment Request form.

You can order a display copy for any of the following reasons:

  • You’d like a shortened version of your legal first and/or middle name printed.
  • Your first and/or middle name are different than your legal first and/or middle name.
  • You’d like your Indigenous traditional name printed.

Disclaimer: In cases where a personal display parchment is issued, the parchment will contain a statement that it is not an official legal document and is for display purposes only in the bottom right hand corner of the parchment. These parchments cannot be used or verified by the University for purposes of employment verification, licensure requirements, student loan issuers, or for other educational institution purposes.

Duplicate Parchment

Before ordering a printed duplicate parchment, ask the requester, for example an employer or educational institution, if they will accept an official digital parchment instead.

If you require additional printed copies of your parchment(s), order a duplicate parchment through the Registrar’s Office Store. A separate order is required for each degree, diploma, or certificate and the applicable fee must be paid. “Duplicate” and the date of issue will be printed on each parchment.

Your student account must be clear before we can process your order. You can make payment at Financial Services, AH 205, or via UR Self-Service.

Please allow 7 to 10 business days for processing, not including shipping time. Requests made during May to June and September to October may face delays due to convocation preparation. Shipping times may vary depending on the destination and the chosen shipping method. The U of R is not responsible for meeting external deadlines or ensuring delivery.

Declaration: In requesting a duplicate and/or replacement parchment, you are declaring that neither the original nor the duplicate parchment shall be used for fraudulent purposes, for forgery purposes, or to misrepresent the qualifications, training, and education of either yourself or another person. You understand that if you violate this declaration, you will be subject to disciplinary measures under the University of Regina's academic misconduct policy.

Replacement Parchment

If your parchment has been lost, damaged, or destroyed, or if you have had an official legal name change, you can order a replacement parchment through the online Registrar's Office Store. A separate order is needed for each degree, diploma, or certificate you require, and the applicable fee must be paid.  “Replacement” and the date of issue will be printed on each parchment.

For legal name changes: The original parchment must be returned to the Registrar’s Office before a new one can be issued. Legal documentation of the name change and a completed Change of Legal Name Form (PDF) are required.

Your student account must be clear before we can process your order. You can make payment at Financial Services, AH 205, or via UR Self-Service.
