Shared Priorities
The Regina Research Connection is a collaboration between the City of Regina and the University of Regina where we will highlight our research partnerships.
The City of Regina’s vision is to be Canada’s most vibrant, inclusive, attractive and sustainable community where people live in harmony and thrive in opportunity. The University of Regina is a world-class educational institution that is committed to innovation, developing talent, and the application of research in addressing significant regional, national and international challenges.
"When our team of outstanding researchers at the U of R is able to use their expertise to solve real-world problems, we all win," said University of Regina President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jeff Keshen. "Our collaboration with the City of Regina benefits not only our campus community, but also the City of Regina and the province as a whole."
"Through our valued relationship with the University of Regina, we are able to access academic expertise, data and resources to build a stronger community," said Mayor Sandra Masters. "We look forward to continuing to engage with faculty and students to share ideas and work collaboratively on key initiatives that enhance our city's social, economic and environmental well-being."
Senior leaders from both organizations meet and communicate regularly to identify opportunities for University of Regina researchers to solve both common and complex problems the City of Regina is facing. Recent discussions have focused on two themes of strategic importance to both the City and the University: environmental sustainability and community safety and wellbeing.
This MOU formalizes the long and successful history of research collaboration between the City of Regina and the U of R.
