The Dean, La Cité Search Advisory Committee (SAC) has completed their work on the position description/appointment details, and the advertisement is being posted and circulated nationally and internationally through various recruitment venues.
The University of Regina and the SAC are partnering with the search firm Perrett Laver on this appointment. The Search Advisory Committee will begin reviewing applications in March 2025, with further updates to follow.

Dear members of the campus community,
On October 21, 2024 I met with and consulted members of La Cité universitaire francophone regarding the search for a new Dean, La Cité at the University of Regina, in accordance with University Policy EMP-010-030 on out-of-scope senior appointments. After seeking the advice of faculty and staff, along with various community partners, I am pleased to confirm with you the members of the Search Advisory Committee (SAC):
- La Cité academic staff members: Dr. Olusegun Afolabi, Dr. Michael Akinpelu, Rebecca Alao
- le Bac academic staff member: Dr. Stephen Davis
- Bilingual Nursing academic staff member: Alysia Liski-Nixon
- APT member: Aurelie Labriere
- CUPE member: Marie-France Girardin
- Undergraduate student: Jocelyn Heroux
- Graduate student: Kodjo Agbotri
- Assemblée communautaire fransaskoise(ACF) representative: Denis Simard
- UR Deans’ Council member: Dr. Shannon Dea
I will fulfill the role of Chair, and the Committee will be supported in its work by Angela Leader of the Provost's office, and the search firm Perrett Laver.
Tentative search timeline (dates subject to change):
- November 4: SAC in place
- November 25: First meeting of the SAC held
- By December 18: Advertising underway (provincial, national, international)
- By April 18: SAC establishes a short list of candidates
- May: Interviews and campus visits
- By June 15: SAC makes a recommendation regarding the preferred candidate to the Interim Provost; Interim Provost makes a recommendation to the President; negotiations with preferred candidate commence
- By June 30: Announcement of the new Dean.
I am confident in the composition of this Committee, and I am thankful to all members for their willingness to participate in the search process.
