Position Profile
The responsibilities of the University Secretary are described in Section 84 of The University of Regina Act.
The Chief Governance Officer and University Secretary supports the Board of Governors and its Chair, the Senate and Chancellor, and Executive of Council and the President, and coordinates the work for all of the committees for these bodies.
The Chief Governance Officer is also responsible for:
- being the custodian for all administrative policies and related official records;
- overseeing the development of the enterprise risk management frameworks;
- managing all student appeals for academic and non-academic matters;
- officiating at ceremonial functions (i.e. Convocation); and,
- undertakes special projects as assigned by the President.
These responsibilities are carried out in an open and consultative environment and in accordance with University policies, procedures and collective agreements.
