Session Description:
McMaster MacPherson Institute, in collaboration with Brock University’s Centre for Pedagogical Innovation, and Collège Boréal’s Centre for Leadership and Academic Innovation, created an alternative assessment toolkit to provide just-in-time support and resources to instructors looking to move beyond the exam for their assessments. Our invited guests, Joanne Kehoe and Giulia Forsythe, will share assessment exemplars and the facilitation guide for easy adoption.

Presenter Bios:
Joanne Kehoe can be found at the intersection of teaching, learning and technology as Lead Educational Developer, Digital Pedagogy, with the MacPherson Institute at McMaster University. In this role, Joanne provides pedagogical advice and support to the McMaster teaching community on how to create enriching open and technology-enhanced learning experiences.

Giulia Forsythe is the Interim Director, Centre for Pedagogical Innovation at Brock University where she continues to support the lofty goals of education to transform lives through high quality teaching, learning, research, and a commitment to equity, justice, and accessibility situated within our community. She is a champion for open education that serves to “honour different ways of knowing and demonstrating knowledge.
