Parents and Supporters Guide
Get Started
We know that a positive residence experience relies heavily on the support of students' parents and supporters. The aim of Housing and Hospitality Services is to provide you with peace of mind as you assist your student in adjusting to living in residence.

Confirmation Fee
To reserve their accommodation students are required to pay a confirmation fee. The confirmation fee is due by the deadline noted in their Letter of Offer and will be applied to their residence fees about a month after move-in. If we do not receive a confirmation fee before the deadline provided, the student will lose their reserved accommodation.
Residence Contract
Contracts are available about 1 month before move-in to students with a reserved accommodation. Residence contracts are sent electronically and students are required to sign their residence contract before their move-in.
Students who are under the age of 18 at the date of signing their contract, must have their parents or guardians co-sign their contract. An electronic copy of the contract will be sent through email to the parents or gaurdians for their signature.
Residence Handbook
Students can access the Residence Handbook through the Housing Services Portal. The Residence Handbook provides you and your student all you need to know about living in residence, the services we have available and day-to-day procedures like cleaning inspections, cancellations and equipment supplied by Housing and Hospitality Services. We always recommend checking the Residence Handbook before contacting the Housing and Hospitality Services office.
If you would like a copy of the Residence Handbook sent to you, please email residence.life@uregina.ca to request a copy.

Staying in Contact!
With busy schedules, sometimes it’s hard to track down your student! Housing and Hospitality Services cannot contact a student on your behalf, unless there is an emergency.
Here are some helpful tips for contacting your student:
- Upon move-in, your student will receive an envelope with important information about their accommodation including their room number, building name, apartment telephone number and address. Write down or snap a photo of this information to make sure you know how to contact your student.
- Consider setting a regular communication schedule with your student to fit around both your schedules.
- Students often rely on their personal devices to stay in-touch. If you cannot reach them through their apartment phone, try to reach them through their cell phone.
Keeping Your Student Updated!
Email is key! The Housing and Hospitality Services team often shares exciting news, important deadlines, and helpful updates through email. Don't forget to remind your students that it is their responsibility to keep an eye on their email for useful info. Not seeing emails from Housing and Hospitality Services? Make sure they mark housing.services@uregina.ca as a safe sender in their email settings, so they never miss an update!
