Laser Safety

The University's Radiation Safety Policy and Laser Safety Program must adhere to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations which govern the use of lasers. There are many different classes of lasers, all of which have the potential to be hazardous. The University of Regina is primarily concerned with the operation of Class 3B and Class 4 lasers as these have a higher potential to cause harm. For information regarding the use of lasers, please contact the U of R Laser Safety Officer.

Visit the Forms & Procedures site to find the necessary documentation for safely conducting laser research and teaching activities.
