Internal Scholarships
Recipients of the Scott Irving Spirit Awards will have demonstrated a commitment to academics and have made significant contributions to the non-academic and/or cultural life of the University of Regina. These contributions may be made through volunteer activity on campus, involvement in extra-curricular University-based clubs or student organizations or participation in intramural activities. Preference will be given to applicants whose campus involvement enriches the university experience of other students.
Eligibility
Two awards will be presented annually to the most deserving University of Regina graduate students who meet the following criteria:
- Registered full-time in the semester the award is presented; and
- Minimum CGPA of 75%.
Application Information
In addition, students will need to upload the following:
- Two letters of reference to support your application (please know you should ask a professor ahead of submitting your application);
- A resume;
- A cover letter from the applicant to support significant contributions to the non-academic and/or cultural life of the University of Regina;
- Demonstrate through application in writing, not to exceed two pages, highlighting applicant's non-academic contributions to university life through volunteerism or other extra-curricular involvement; and
- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled 'Current Registration & List of Courses (Unofficial Transcript)' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.
IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
